Privacy Policy

HandIQ helps users save poker hands and request AI-assisted hand analysis. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

• Account identity: email address, display name, authentication provider, user ID, and related sign-in information from Firebase Authentication or provider sign-in services such as Google or Apple.
• Saved hand content: hand details you enter, including cards, positions, stakes, stack sizes, player tendencies, action text, board cards, notes, questions, and related metadata.
• AI analysis history: analysis requests, AI responses, follow-up chat messages, correction feedback, and reusable learning notes generated from your feedback.
• Feedback and support: messages you submit through the feedback form, along with optional account identity and app context.
• Referrals: referral codes, invitation status, qualifying activity, and analysis credits earned through the referral program.
• Public hand-share pages: when you intentionally create a web share link, HandIQ stores the hand details included in that share so anyone with the unguessable link can view them. Private AI analysis, follow-up chat, and account identity are not included. Share links expire after one year.
• Technical information: request timestamps, IP-derived rate-limit information, app language, app version, platform, and standard server logs used for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

How We Use Information

• Provide account sign-in and keep saved hands and analysis associated with the correct user profile.
• Generate, save, display, and improve AI-assisted poker hand analysis and follow-up chat.
• Respond to feedback, debug issues, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and maintain the service.
• Improve HandIQ product quality, prompts, and user experience.

AI Processing

When you request analysis or chat, the relevant hand details, question, prior analysis, and chat context are sent to HandIQ's backend and to OpenAI so the AI response can be generated. Do not enter information that you do not want processed for this purpose.

Service Providers

We use service providers to run HandIQ, including Firebase for authentication and related account services, Render for backend hosting, OpenAI for AI analysis, and email delivery providers for app feedback. These providers process information on our behalf to provide the service.

Data Retention

User-linked saved hands and analysis remain until you delete the hand or account. Free-text analysis feedback is retained for up to 90 days, structured feedback for up to 12 months, and privacy-safe individual observability events for up to 90 days. Synthetic evaluation data and privacy-safe global knowledge audit history may be retained indefinitely.

Optional De-identified Improvement Contributions

If you explicitly enable Contribute De-identified Hands in Settings, HandIQ may retain a permanently de-identified copy of a hand you subsequently save or analyze for product evaluation and AI improvement. The copy excludes account and hand identifiers, player names, notes, questions, chat, feedback prose, and exact timestamps. It standardizes monetary amounts into big-blind units and cannot be linked back to your account. Because no account link is retained, a previously contributed copy may remain after you disable future contributions, delete the original hand, or delete your account. This setting is optional and is off by default.

Your Choices

• You can delete saved hands in the app.
• You can enable or disable future de-identified improvement contributions in Settings.
• You can delete private feedback, preferences, and other user-linked agent-learning data without deleting saved hands.
• You can choose whether to create a public hand-share link. Anyone who receives the link can view and reshare its hand details until it expires.
• You can avoid submitting optional feedback or optional hand details.
• You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of account-associated information.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service can guarantee complete security.

Children

HandIQ is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
